Get Involved

There are tons of ways to get involved in the Read by 4th Campaign!

You can be…

An Advocate: Use your voice to advance the lives of the children in the city by advocating with Read by 4th partner organizations such as Public Citizens for Children and Youth, First Up, and the Maternity Care Coalition.

A Cheerleader: Do you know someone making a difference in their community by helping children to become stronger readers? If so, nominate them to become a Reading Hero! Reading Heroes are ordinary people doing extraordinary things to help children learn to read.

A Partner: If you share our belief in the power of collective responsibility and want to do more, sign up to be an official Read by 4th partner!

A Reading Captain: Step up and be a Reading Captain for families on your neighborhood block or in your workplace. Like Block Captains, Reading Captains connect caring adults in their communities with information. But, unlike Block Captains, a Reading Captain’s information and resources are about how to help children become strong readers. Sign up to be a Reading Captain!

A Supporter: Find and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! Receive reading tips, learn about fun family events happening in the city, and keep up with the latest campaign news. Don’t forget to like, comment, and share!

A Volunteer: Our partner network is always looking for eager volunteers. Check out our volunteer page to see what exciting opportunities await you!

Parents, if you’re looking for resources and programs for your children you can find pages dedicated to children ages 0-2, ages 3-4, ages 5-9, and so much more!

There’s a role for everyone! If you couldn’t find the one for you, let us know how you would like to get involved.
